Now that the full roster for the 2023-24 All-Value Sire Team has been selected, let's take a closer look at each member, continuing on with Second Team Prospect Speaker's Corner at Darley America.
As the Second Team Prospect, Speaker's Corner represents bloodstock editor Joe Nevills' runner-up choice among stallions standing for $20,000 or less whose first foals are weanlings or yearlings of 2024, based on a combination of on-track performance, progeny performance, pedigree, physical, and commercial momentum.
A physical throwback to his broodmare sire Bernardini, Speaker's Corner has shown positive early commercial returns with his first in-foal broodmares during last fall's mixed sales.
Speaker's Corner offers many potential pathways for breeders, as a high-level runner from seven furlongs to a mile sporting classic-winning bloodlines on the top and bottom of his pedigree.
"Speaker's Corner offers breeders a variety of options for mares to send that could end up working, and at a time when resumes are being built, having more irons in the fire is rarely a bad thing," Nevills wrote in his analysis.
