If you're a wine lover then you've probably spent a pretty penny on one of your favorite bottles. But have you ever spent thousands on a bottle of your go-to vino? If not, here's your chance! For those who may have a few thousand dollars to spare, Costco is currently selling a 3-pack of Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon for $6,399.99.
The pricey wine was spotted by a user on Reddit, who hilariously wrote "Excited to see the screaming eagle, but reality hit and picked up a $12 bottle."
Although Screaming Eagle is quite the established brand, and is well known for having a pretty hefty price tag, some users on Reddit are calling the wine set sold at Costco "a scam."
"I am a professional wine snob. A sommelier. This is not worth the price. At all. It's a scam for rich people to think they're fancy - they buy it and never drink it just want to say they have some in their cellar. Total knobs," one Redditor commented.
There was one user who confessed that Screaming Eagle wines aren't even worth it given the selection of quality wines available at a far better price.
"As a footnote, it's not even that good. You can get way too many better wines without paying the price for this particular name," they wrote.
Another person had this very important question given Costco's generous return policy: "So like If I buy this, can I return it if I’m not satisfied with it? Lol"
Lastly, if you find yourself looking for an affordable quality wine during your next Costco trip, one Redditor offered the following suggestions: "The Costco NZ sauv blanc is sublime. It's 6.99 and it's my favorite. Not too grassy but just green enough to be crispy. CA sauv blancs are great from Sonoma."
