Every year one thing keeps our spirits burning bright as the darkness of winter deepens: Girl Scout Cookies going on sale. Those little boxes, sold by young entrepreneurs, are wholly good. They help members learn new skills that also help them fund their own local groups. As both our spirits and waistlines can attest, those sweet treats also taste really freaking good. And next year’s batch is going to be even better and bigger than the last. Today Girl Scouts of the USA announced their 2026 lineup will feature an all-new sandwich cookie, rocky road ice cream-inspired Exploremores.
You don’t have to wait until 2026 to find out if they’re good, though. Nerdist got an early chance to try them and they’ll be a part of Girl Scout cookie order this winter.
We’re getting a new Girl Scout Cookie in 2026, rocky road ice cream-inspired Exploremores. And Nerdist got an early chance to try these tasty treats. As for their name, the organization says their new offering “reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout.”
They also reflect our love of snacking. These are a welcome and tasty addition to Girl Scout’s cookie line. Chocolate fans will especially love them, as they are very, very chocolatey.
I just wish they had more of the delightful crème filling. We had to eat a couple for the nice rocky road ice cream flavor to come through. (And as a rocky road enthusiasts I can tell you that flavor is definitely there.) Once that flavor came to the forefront these went to a different level. That’s not a big deal, though, when you remember a proper portion size of Girl Scout cookies is “an entire sleeve.”
The 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Program, sponsored by Adobe, kicks off (generally) in January. When they do you can pick up yours online and in person at local Girl Scout booths. Like with all of the organization’s cookies, the proceeds from every sale of Exploremores “stay local with Girl Scout councils and troops to help fund life-changing programs, experiences and learnings all year long.”
Like we said, everything about Girl Scout cookies—including Exploremores now—is good.
