The Brewers and Cubs are making playoff pushes but both are dealing with outfielder injuries. And speaking of playoff pushes, the Royals were without Bobby Witt Jr. thanks to a back injury.
Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong left the team’s game on September 6 with a knee injury.
The speedy outfielder fouled a ball off right his right knee during an at-bat. X-rays came back negative.
Crow-Armstrong said afterwards that he didn’t feel like he could move out there the way he should after the foul ball and that he dealt with a “good stinger.”
Additionally, Kyle Tucker remained out with a calf injury.
Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. was held of the team’s game on September 6.
Witt Jr. exited the game on September 5 with back spasms and per manager Matt Quatraro, he was still feeling them on the 6th. The team sent him out for an MRI for more clarity and whether he’s dealing with something more severe.
Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich remained out with a back injury.
Yelich has not played since September 1.
Mets outfielder Jose Siri went 1-5 with a home run off Alek Manoah for Syracuse (AAA).
For Manaoh, the right-hander gave up six hits and struck out five over 5.2 IP for Buffalo. Manoah topped out at 92 MPH, down slightly from his start last week.
Brewers reliever Grant Anderson have up three hits and three runs over one inning for Nashville (AAA). He did not strike out a batter.
The Dodgers placed catcher Dalton Rushing on the 10-day IL with a shin contusion.
Angels reliever Ryan Zeferjahn was placed on the 15-day IL with right knee tendinitis.
Rays pitcher Brian Van Belle went on the IL with elbow inflammation.
Astros outfielder Jake Meyers was activated off the injured list.
