The 2025 MLB All-Star Game rosters have been reshuffled over the past few days, and that continued on July 11. Rays infielder Brandon Lowe will miss the game thanks to an oblique injury, marking the second time he’s missed the Midsummer Classic. Additionally, outfielder Jake Meyers and Jesse Winker landed on the IL.
The Rays have been without Brandon Lowe for the past few days and will not have him available until at least the start of next weekend. Lowe was placed on the 10-day IL with left oblique tightness.
He can come back next weekend, as the move is retroactive to July 8. The Rays infielder stated he hopes it will be a short stint on the IL.
Lowe, named to the All-Star team, was replaced on the roster by Royals infielder Maikel Garcia.
Houston made a flurry of moves, part of a big day for the organization, as the team selected infielder Brice Matthews‘ contract from Triple-A.
The Astros placed outfielder Jake Meyers on the 10-day IL with a right calf strain. It’s retroactive to July 10.
Additionally, Zach Dezenzo was transferred to the 60-day IL.
Mets outfielder/designated hitter Jesse Winker left the team’s game on July 10 (Game 1 of doubleheader) with back tightness. One day later, he’s back on the injured list.
Winker, who came off the IL this week after missing two months with an oblique strain, hit the injured list with back inflammation. The team stated he will be on medication for the next few days.
The good news for both Winker & the Mets is that the back issue is not related to the oblique, per the team.
It’s another blow for the Mets, who lost Starling Marte to the IL this week, as well.
The Blue Jays placed reliever Ryan Burr on the 60-day IL with a right shoulder rotator cuff strain.
White Sox infielder Tim Elko landed on the IL with a right knee sprain.
Ryan Bergert (Padres), Alex Bregman (Red Sox), Hunter Dobbins (Red Sox), Kendall Graveman (Diamondbacks), and Kodai Senga (Mets) were activated off the injured list.
