The Milwaukee Brewers are NLDS bound, meaning they will skip a best of three games Wild Card Series and go directly to a best of five series. As the postseason nears, one of the most intriguing “what‑ifs” in Milwaukee is what will the Brewers’ 2025 playoff roster look like?

With injury concerns, rising young arms, and veterans all in play for October roles, projecting who makes the cut and how they’ll be used is educated guesswork. Working in the favor of injured players, like DL Hall, Jose Quintana, Trevor Megill, and Brandon Woodruff, is the fact that Milwaukee will get six extra days of rest upon conclusion of the regular season before their first post season game.

Furthermore, if the Brewers advance past the NLDS, they can change their roster for the NLCS, should someone like Woodruff, whose availability for the NLDS is doubtful, become healthy enough to play later on in the post season.

2025 Milwaukee Brewers playoff roster prediction

Starting pitchers (4): Freddy Peralta, Quinn Priester, Jose Quintana, Chad Patrick

In a best of five series, carrying four starting pitchers is normal, although additional arms which can provide length for multiple innings would also be a part of the bullpen. This collection of players leaves out Woodruff, due to injury, assumes Quintana is healthy enough to make a post season start, and rewards rookie Chad Patrick with a start in game four, if necessary. Should the series go to five games, the ball would then go back to game one starter, Freddy Peralta.

Relief pitchers (8): Trevor Megill, Abner Uribe, Jared Koenig, Aaron Ashby, Nick Mears, Jacob Misiorowski, Erick Fedde, Tobias Myers

Locks for the bullpen include the first five names, with the only caveat being Megill deemed healthy enough to return. After Megill, Uribe, Koenig, Ashby, and Mears, Misiorowski isn’t guaranteed a spot, as manager Pat Murphy has been vocal about him not being in a place to work as a starter in the post season, but deploying him out of the bullpen seems like a wise idea. Afterwards, Erick Fedde and Tobias Myers slide in as depth and length options, if needed. DL Hall was left off this given how much time he has missed with injury and his return also in question.

Catchers (2): William Contreras and Danny Jansen

There isn’t any debate here, Contreras and Jansen will be the two catchers on the NLDS roster.

Infielders (7): Andrew Vaughn, Rhys Hoskins, Jake Bauers, Brice Turang, Joey Ortiz, Caleb Durbin, and Andruw Monasterio

Turang (second base), Ortiz (shortstop), and Durbin (third base) are locks as starters at their respective positions for the NLDS. Vaughn and Bauers seem like locks to get opportunities at first base as upon Hoskisn being activated from the IL early in September, he has hardly been used and hasn’t even started a game. Still having Hoskins available as a pinch hitter is a smart move while having Monasterio as a backup second baseman, third baseman, and shortstop.

Outfielders (5): Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, Sal Frelick, Isaac Collins, and Blake Perkins

The biggest debate with these outfielders is who, between Isaac Collins and Blake Perkins, will get to start. Whoever starts will go a long way to determining the defensive configuration, as if Perkins starts in center field, Chourio will get pushed to left field, and Collins will be available off the bench. If Collins starts, in left field, then Chourio will slide over to center. Murphy will have to make a calculated decision as to how he wants to align his outfield.
