It’s been a busy week for the Angels. Los Angeles hired Kurt Suzuki as manager, and the Angels also cleared space on their 40-man roster before November. Several players were outrighted off the 40-man. Sammy Peralta, placed on waivers by the Angels, was claimed by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Milwaukee claimed left-handed reliever Sammy Peralta from the Angels. The 27-year-old Peralta joined the Angels in 2025 after spending his whole pro career with the White Sox. Peralta was a 19th-round pick by the White Sox in 2019.
Peralta doesn’t throw too hard; he sat 89-90 MPH with his sinker this season. However, it is a true sinker and one he paired with a changeup, slider, and seldom-used four-seamer.
Aside from a bad stretch in 2024, Peralta limits well-hit contact. He sported sub-4% Barrel% rates in 2023 and 2025, both of which rank above the league average.
The Angels outrighted four players, Carter Kieboom, Connor Brogdon, Carson Fulmer, and Logan Davidson, to Triple-A Salt Lake. Kieboom has already elected free agency, per the official Minor League Baseball website.
Davidson made his MLB debut in 2025 after spending five full years in the Minors. The former first-round pick bounced between the Athletics, Astros, and Angels organizations this year.
The 30-year-old Brogdon, once an often-used reliever as a Phillie, gave up 11 home runs across 47 innings this season with the Angels. Brogdon struck out 49 and posted above-average chase and whiff rates.
Fulmer, who spent much of the last three seasons with the Angels, struck out 26 over 29 innings this season.
There were some other minor moves made this past week.
The Mets officially signed left-handed reliever Joe Jacques on a Minor League deal and assigned him to Triple-A Syracuse. Jacques, a heavy sinker/sweeper pitcher, went to college at nearby Manhattan College.
Jose De Leon, also placed on outright waivers by the Red Sox earlier this month, elected free agency.
