2026 Injury Report: Updates on Butto, Quintana, Winn

It was a light day of MLB action on April 2, meaning the news was mostly limited. However, we did receive some injury updates, including on pitchers Jose Butto and Jose Quintana. Additionally, Masyn Winn was involved in a car accident on the 1st of April, per his club, the St. Louis Cardinals.

Winn fine after car accident

Cardinals infielder Masyn Winn was involved in a car accident on April 1, after his team defeated the Mets in extra-innings.

Thankfully, Winn didn’t suffer any notable injury. Per a team statement, Winn was involved in a single-car incident caused by wet pavement. He was checked out in a nearby hospital and released shortly thereafter.

Quintana on IL

Colorado Rockies pitcher Jose Quintana landed on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. The left-hander made one start for the Rockies during Colorado’s opening weekend series.

Quintana, who signed with the Rockies late in the winter, was placed on the IL retroactive to March 30.

Butto placed on injured list

The Giants placed pitcher Jose Butto on the IL just before his current team was set to face his old team, the Mets.

Butto was diagnosed with right arm fatigue, per the team.

Rehab assignments

Nick Lodolo struck out four over 2.2 IP for Low-A Daytona. The Reds pitcher is rehabbing from a blister injury.

Rays utilityman Gavin Lux went 1-4 with a strikeout for Triple-A Durham.

Rangers pitcher Cody Bradford did not strike out a batter over two innings with Triple-A Round Rock. The left-hander conceded two home runs.

Other injury news

Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford was activated off the injured list.

The Twins transferred pitcher David Festa from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL. He is dealing with a right shoulder impingement.
