2026 Injury Report: Updates on Judge, Santander, Ribalta

He’s back. After a three-month absence due to a rib injury, Aaron Judge is officially off the injured list. The club made the move on their off day on September 7, right before a big homestand with matchups against the Rockies and the Mets.

Judge activated off injured list

Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge was officially activated off the injured list.

Judge did not require a rehab assignment before his return, which will very likely come in the Yankees’ series versus the Rockies. Instead, he took batting practice this past week before a scheduled session against live pitching, which was set before the start of the club’s homestand.

Pitcher Chase Hampton was designated for assignment.

Santander rehabbing this week

The Blue Jays will get Anthony Santander out on a rehab assignment this week, starting on September 9 with Triple-A Buffalo (h/t Sportsnet).

Santander has yet to get into a game this season, as he’s been out all year long with a shoulder injury.

IL moves

Brewers reliever Grant Anderson was placed on the 15-day IL with right biceps inflammation.

The Nationals placed pitcher Orlando Ribalta on the 15-day IL with right forearm inflammation.

Nick Pivetta (Padres), Ke’Bryan Hayes (Reds), Kyle Karros (Rockies), Robert Garcia (Rangers), and Joe Ryan (Twins) were activated from the injured list.

Other notes

Ian Happ (knee) did not start on September 7 but did get two at-bats against the Brewers off the bench.

Chase DeLauter (wrist) was out for the Guardians again.
