2026 Injury Report: Updates on Marte, Glasnow, Lockridge

Just when the Dodgers appeared to get their rotation fully healthy, Tyler Glasnow was placed on the injured list. That was one of several injury-related notes from the day, which also included updates on the Diamondbacks and Brewers.

Marte a late scratch

The Diamondbacks scratched second baseman Ketel Marte from the team’s game on May 8 against the Mets.

Marte was scratched due to an illness.

Updates on Brewers outfielders

Speaking of illnesses, Garrett Mitchell was not in the Brewers’ lineup thanks to an illness. And Brandon Lockridge, who was in the lineup for Mitchell, suffered a knee injury during the game against the Yankees.

Lockridge suffered a laceration after he collided with the wall trying to field a ball. Manager Pat Murphy indicated that Lockridge, who had to be carted off, had his X-rays come back clean. Still, the laceration will keep him out for some time (h/t MLB.com).

IL placements

The Dodgers placed pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the 15-day IL with lower back spasms.

Angels catcher Travis d’Arnaud landed on the IL with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Royals pitcher Cole Ragans was placed on the IL with a left elbow impingement.

Pirates outfielder Jake Mangum was added to the 10-day IL with a left hamstring strain. It’s retroactive to May 6.

Orioles pitcher Cade Povich, who left his start early on May 7, was placed on the IL one day later with left elbow inflammation.

Rehab assignments

Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts went 1-3 with a strikeout for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He was one of two rehabbers with the Comets, as Enrique Hernandez went 0-3 with two strikeouts.

Betts played five innings at short, while Hernandez came out after seven.

Those two faced a Major League pitcher, in Angels pitcher Ryan Johnson. Johnson, on his own rehab assignment, struck out five and gave up six hits (three earned runs) over five innings (78 pitches).

The righty averaged 92 MPH.

Other notes

Luis Garcia Jr. (wrist) was kept out of the Nationals’ starting lineup. Garcia Jr. did come in off the bench later in the game.

Red Sox pitcher Ranger Suarez (hamstring) will be pushed back and pitch during Boston’s series versus the Phillies.

Blake Snell will come off the IL and make his MLB season debut on May 9.

Nick Lodolo and Brendan Donovan were activated off the IL.
