The 'ALCS MVPs' quiz

For the first time since 2020 and just the third time in franchise history, the Tampa Bay Rays will play for a World Series title after beating the Cleveland Guardians 7-3 in Game 6 of the ALCS.

Trade deadline acquisition Freddy Peralta made his  second start (and third appearance) of the series, allowing just one run and striking out three over 5 1/3 innings. That was the only run he allowed over 12 innings of work in the series, with his efforts earning him ALCS MVP honors.

The veteran has turned into the most impactful move made at the trade deadline this year, posting a 1.08 ERA so far this postseason after a disastrous couple of months with the New York Mets.

Next up for Peralta is a matchup with one of his former teams, the Milwaukee Brewers, in a matchup that ensures this season will have a first-time World Series champion.
