
Kansas City Royals fans received updates on several injured players, one of whom being Cole Ragans. Ragans, who’s missed most of 2026 due to injury, is going to miss more time. Additionally, Julio Rodriguez was removed from the Mariners’ game on the 2nd of July.

Rodriguez took a ball to the back of his head after Nolan Schanuel attempted to toss it to Zach Neto, who was covering second base.
There’s now some clarity on the surgery that Cole Ragans had. The left-hander underwent UCL surgery, which will keep him out through at least the rest of the 2026 campaign.
Ragans will miss at least 12 months, meaning the best-case scenario would be for him to come back around the 2027 All-Star break.
Padres reliever Jason Adam was placed on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder strain.
German Marquez was activated in a corresponding move.
Rangers pitcher Jordan Montgomery struck out three over two innings (39 pitches), allowing three hits and two runs for Triple-A Round Rock. He topped out at 91 MPH and averaged 90 MPH with sinker.
Mets DH Jorge Polanco went 1-2 with a home run and a walk for Triple-A Syracuse. In that same game, Luis Robert Jr. went 0-4 with three strikeouts.
Down in Double-A Binghamton, Dedniel Nunez struck out one over a scoreless inning.
Red Sox infielder Nick Sogard went 1-2 with a walk for Double-A Portland.
Dodgers closer threw a 28-pitch bullpen session successfully on July 2, per manager Dave Roberts.
Royals catcher Salvador Perez was out of the lineup against the Rays due to a sore elbow.
Brandon Nimmo (shoulder) remained out for the fourth straight game on July 2.
