Atlanta made an addition to their 40-man roster on May 6, as middle infielder Jim Jarvis was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett. The former Tigers prospect gets the call for the first time in what’s been a career Minor League season for the 25-year-old infielder.
The Braves selected the contract of shortstop Jim Jarvis from Triple-A Gwinnett. He was added to Atlanta’s active roster.
Jarvis was an 11th-round pick by the Tigers back in 2023 out of Alabama. He showed versatility in the field with the Tigers’ system and stole a good amount of bases. However, he never hit a ton before he was traded to Atlanta last summer for Rafael Montero.
But this past year, Jarvis has been quite good for the Stripers. He walked 23 times over 33 contests in Triple-A, 10 fewer than what he had in 103 games last year. Additionally, Jarvis hit four home runs — one shy of his career-high in the Minors — and a sub-17% Whiff% rate.
