
Before the Rays started their three-game series with the Reds on April 20, Tampa Bay added Trevor Martin from the Minors. Martin was one of several notable players promoted to the Majors on the 20th.
The Rays selected pitcher Trevor Martin from the Durham Bulls and added him to the 40-man roster.
Martin was once a starter, and a good one at that, in A-ball. The Rays’ right-hander struck out 131 over 110 innings in the Carolina League three years ago. But since then, he was hit hard as a starter in Double-A the year later and moved into a relief role. He struck out 11 over 9.1 scoreless innings to begin 2026.
Mid-90s four-seamer with some cutting action, topped out at 97 MPH. Cut-slider, splitter, and sweeper/slurve are also in his repertoire.
The Dodgers added more relief depth on the 20th, as Los Angeles recalled left-hander Jake Eder from Triple-A. Eder was acquired by the team earlier this month.
Eder struck out three over 5.1 IP with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Braden Shewmake joined the Astros’ roster on April 20, as he was officially promoted.
Shewmake joined the big league club one day after he was acquired in a trade with the Yankees.
Nick Loftin (Royals), Julian Fernandez (Nationals), and Brady Basso (Athletics) were recalled from the Minors.
Andrew Alvarez (Nationals), Mason Barnett (Athletics), and Maximo Acosta (Marlins) were optioned to Triple-A.
The Mariners added infielder Will Wilson to the 40-man roster and promoted him to the Majors.
Houston sent J.P. France outright to Triple-A Sugar Land.
