3 Blue Jays who have a shot of heading to the All-Star Game

The Blue Jays have been one of the hottest teams in the league with their fifth straight series wins and two series sweeps over the past few weeks.

As the team surged well above .500, so did the chances of sending more players to the All-Star game in Atlanta this year. While many players on the roster have contributed to the Blue Jays’ recent hot streaks, these three players have the most chances of making it to the All-Star roster.

Bo Bichette

Compared to other flashy shortstops on the All-Star ballot like Jeremy Pena and Bobby Witt Jr. for the American League, Bo Bichette doesn’t stand out much in the batting average or OPS categories. However, where he shines is his home run record and the number of RBIs he’s generated. After a slow start in the power category, Bichette clubbed eight home runs and 40 RBIs. The Florida native leads the RBIs category on the All-Star ballot among all AL shortstops

If we are focusing on Toronto’s recent hot streak, Bichette led the team with 15 RBIs, four home runs, and a .298 BA in the last 14 games (this excludes the most recent games at Citizens Bank Park). Even if the 27-year-old shortstop hasn’t reached his full potential yet this season, he has bounced back from his injury-ridden 2024 season record. Currently, Bichette slashes .271/.316/.419 and has a 107 wRC+. Toronto’s shortstop may not make it to the main roster, but he certainly has a shot to make it to the reserves.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been productive this season, even if he hasn’t quite been as elite as everyone expected him to be. But Guerrero Jr. has slashed .278/.380/.421 and ranks second in batting among Blue Jays’ hitters. His OPS and SLG currently lag behind George Springer, Addison Barger and Alejandro Kirk, according to Baseball Reference. Still, his WAR stands at 1.8, right behind Clement, while also owning a 123 OPS+.

The 2025 Blue Jays are witnessing an upswing with everyone from top to bottom contributing to their hot streak, but the 26-year-old first baseman’s consistency shouldn’t be taken lightly. Toronto is where it is right now because the slugger has quietly contributed to the team’s offensive performances by getting on base often and producing clutch hits when the team needed them the most. It also helps that Guerrero Jr. is one of the more recognized names around the league. With his recognition and production, the young infielder has a shot at landing a starring role in Atlanta and collecting his fifth consecutive All-Star nod.

Alejandro Kirk

Alejandro Kirk has proved the league wrong this year and has been on a tear, especially during this Blue Jays’ hot streak. One of the more notable adjustments the Mexican native made was his hard hit percentage, which used to be at 40.9% in the past year but has jumped to a whopping 55.8% this season so far. This season, he owns a .328/.369/.441 slash line with a .811 OPS and 31 RBIs. He’s been the go-to catcher for the Jays as well, suiting up in most of the team’s games.

Kirk has also performed extremely well in the field and ranks at the top in fielding run value with (10), and his framing is also at the top 10%, showcasing his overall value to the Blue Jays. The Seattle Mariners’ Cal Raleigh may have an upper hand with his monster power and strong start to the year, but Captain Kirk deserves a shot at the reserves at the very least with his recent surge.
