New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge scripted another piece of history on Sunday. He tied MLB Hall of Famer Yogi Berra for 5th spot in the all-time Yankees homer list with his 358th blast. For decades, the all-time home run list for the Yankees read the names of Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Yogi Berra.
Judge started the day on Sunday with 357 homers and was one shy of edging into the top-5 list. Berra, the 18-time All-Star, played for the Yankees from 1946 to 1963. During this tenure, he would hit 358 home runs while winning the World Series 10 times as a player.
He would have two stints as manager of the Bronx Bombers in 1964 and then from 1984 to 1985. He even worked as a coach for them from 1976 to 1983. Following a 0-2 count against Martin Perez of the Chicago White Sox in the first inning, Judge connected on an 87 mph cutter.
The reigning American League MVP would hit the ball over the left center field wall of the Rate Field to give his team a 1-0 lead. His 43rd home run of the 2025 season turned out to be his 358th home run as a Yankee.

Judge is now 3 home runs shy of tying Joe DiMaggio for fourth in this list. He still has a long way to chase down the others, though. Gehrig sits third in the ranking with 493. Mantle is 2nd with 536, while “the Bambino,” Babe Ruth, leads the way with 659.

The day, though, did not end the way the Yankees would have wanted. They ended up losing 3-2, which ended their 7-game winning run. Despite this setback, Judge claimed that it was “cool” to be part of an iconic Yankees list.
The way Yogi played the game, what he meant to the pinstripes, you know how much it meant, being a New York Yankee, to him. I feel the same way. I’m honored to wear this jersey. So it’s pretty cool to be on that list.

Following a midseason slump in form , the New York Yankees have gotten hot again. The team swept the Washington Nationals before almost sweeping the Chicago White Sox in a 4-game series. Aaron Judge and his team are now gearing up for a 12-game gauntlet against the contending teams.
The Yankees will first take on the AL West division leaders, the Houston Astros (75-62), in a 3-game series at Daikin Park. They will then return to Yankee Stadium to take on the Toronto Blue Jays (79-58).
The Canadian outfit has had the number of the Yankees this year. In July, the Blue Jays swept their division rivals in a 4-game series and took over possession of first place in the AL East, pushing down their opponents in the process.
Following that, they will turn their attention to the AL Central leaders, Detroit Tigers (80-58). Once this series is done, they will lock horns once again with the Boston Red Sox (76-62). While speaking with the reporters after the 3-2 loss, Aaron Judge expressed that this 4-series will show what they are made of.
That’s what we want. It’s coming down to the wire. We want to play the best teams, especially getting down the stretch here into the postseason. That’s what it’s all about, to see what we’re made of.

What are our honest expectations and hopes for the Yankees record in their next 12 games?

3 @ HOU
3 vs. TOR
3 vs. DET
3 @ BOS
We're about to learn a lot about this Yankees team. Buckle up.
The Yankees (76-61) are currently 3 games behind the Blue Jays in the race for 1st spot in the AL East. Their loss on Sunday cut down their lead to half a game in the AL Wild Card Standings over the Red Sox for the 1st spot. This upcoming stretch could define where the Yankees finish in the standings.
