Filling in for Gabriel Moreno, who is on the 10-day IL with a groin injury, Adrian Del Castillo doubled off the wall in his first major league at-bat with his family and friends in attendance.
Del Castillo drove in Eugenio Suarez, giving the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead.
A lifetime of hard work all led to this moment.

Del Castillo was named Minor League Player of the Month in May and led the entire Pacific Coast League in hits, runs, doubles, SLG, and OPS.
Before being called up, he was named to the MiLB Team of the Week. On August 3rd, against the Sacramento River Cats, he hit a three-run home run, contributing to the Aces’ 6-1 victory. This was one of three home runs he hit last week, bringing his season total to 24.
With their victory over the Guardians in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader, the Diamondbacks secured their seventh straight series win.
