Both of the Toronto Blue Jays’ Dominican Summer League teams started their season on Monday
This is the May 30 – June 2 edition of the Minor League Report, where we look at how the last three days have gone for each of the Toronto Blue Jays’ affiliates. We’ll look at the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, High-A Vancouver Canadians, Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, FCL Jays, and their two DSL teams in this article.
Let’s take a look at what’s happened since the last article, which you can read here!
The Buffalo Bisons’ three-game win streak was snapped on Friday with a 5-3 loss to the Charlotte Knights. Will Robertson’s four-game home run streak also came to an end, as Joey Loperfido hit the only extra-base hit, his 10th double of the season. Adam Kloffenstein made the start, giving up three earned runs in five innings. Trenton Wallace threw two scoreless innings.
They got back in the win column with a 5-4 victory on Saturday. Ryan McCarty hit his first Triple-A home run, and Damiano Palmegiani hit his fourth double of the season. Anders Tolhurst pitched five innings, giving up one earned run.

It’s been tough going for the Dunedin Blue Jays recently, coming into Friday’s game with a 5-10 record in their last 15. They suffered another loss to the Clearwater Threshers, falling 10-4. Jean Joseph and Manuel Beltre each hit their ninth double of the season, and Gilberto Batista gave up four runs (one earned) in five innings of work.

Juanmi Vasquez got the decision, striking out three and not giving up a run in his two and two-thirds of an inning pitched.
Unfortunately, the D-Jays went below .500 once again on Sunday, falling 5-3 in the series finale. On Monday, the Dominican Summer League season started. This year, the Blue Jays have two teams, the DSL Blue Jays Blue and the DSL Blue Jays Red, confusing, right?
The DSL Blue Jays Blue fell 7-6 to the DSL Arizona Black, with Cristopher Polanco hitting his first extra-base hit. Juarlin Soto and Rafael Flores each hit doubles as well, with Soto finishing with a three-hit game. Cristhian Duarte made the start, giving up three earned runs in four and two-thirds innings pitched. Juan Ramirez, who was born in Australia, struck out three in two innings of scoreless work.
