And the hits (parlays) just keep on coming

We didn't receive any thank-you emails for sweeping the board on our prop parlays, but that's OK — we know you would've if you could've.

Hit parlay: Jose Abreu, Ramon Urias and Christian Walker 1+ hit each (+205 FD)

We'll be keeping our reasoning relatively simple for this trio of players to get a hit today. It's all about the two most important factors to us: history against the opposing starter and recent success.

Jose Abreu is hitting .455 in 23 plate appearances against Detroit starter Daniel Norris and comes into this one with a hit in 23 of his last 30 games. Ramon Urias of Baltimore also has a .455 average against the starter he'll face today: Corey Kluber. His average comes from 12 PA. Urias has a hit in 21 of his last 30 games, six of his last seven, and has a higher average when facing RHP, which Kluber is. Christian Walker has really had Antonio Senzatela's number, batting .520 against him in 25 PA. Walker has a hit in six straight games, giving us a streak and historical average we want to follow. Altogether, this parlay comes in at +205 on FanDuel.

Strikeout parlay: Luis Garcia 5+ Ks, Tony Gonsolin 4+ Ks, Tyler Mahle 5+ Ks, Carlos Rodon 6+ Ks (+105 FD)

We've had a really nice week targeting these alternate K lines available on FanDuel, so it feels best that we continue to look into the market. We have four strikeout targets today; here's why we like each:

• Garcia has 5+ Ks in 79% of his starts this year, including nine straight. He's gotten to 5+ in eight of nine home starts as well. Oakland is striking out at the 7th-highest rate vs. RHP in the last 30, and Garcia fanned 7 A's when he last faced them. 
• Gonsolin has 4+ Ks in 16 of 20 starts this season, and he's over this number in 16 of his last 17. He also has 4+ Ks in nine straight road starts. Kansas City is striking out at the 9th-highest rate vs. RHP in the last 30 days.
• Mahle has 5+ Ks in 15 of 20 starts this year, including 10 of his last 11. The Angels are striking out at the 3rd-highest rate against righties in the past month. 
• Rodon has 6+ Ks in 16 of 22 starts, including nine of his past 11 games. At home, he's at six Ks or higher in seven of nine games. He struck out eight Pirates the last time he faced them, and Pittsburgh is striking out at the 4th-highest rate vs. LHP in the last 30 days.

The main event will see Marlon Vera vs. Dominick Cruz, with Vera the heavy favorite. Off the biggest win of his career over Rob Font, Vera feels like the right bet here. At -225, you may want to pair it with one of your other favorite plays that's a bit juiced.

NFL preseason action piles up, and so too do the sportsbook promos — So, no big deal but the NFL preseason picks that we flagged yesterday came through. Maybe this market has some merit after all?
