Angels Land Rumored Mets Target After Impressive Season
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Mets are looking to add to the bullpen.

New York has been pretty busy this offseason after bringing in former Milwaukee Brewers executive David Stearns to be the club's president of baseball operations.

The Mets already are better on paper and could end up surprising some people in 2024. New York hasn't made a major splash this offseason yet, but it certainly has improved the club.

New York's starting rotation is in a much better spot but the club still needs to add to the bullpen. Hurlers are starting to come off the board in free agency and one stud who was linked to the Mets no longer is available.

The Mets were mentioned as a possible suitor for one-time All-Star Matt Moore but he reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Angels, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

"Left-handed reliever Matt Moore and the Los Angeles Angels are in agreement on a one-year, $9 million contract, sources tell ESPN," Passan said. "Moore joins the recently signed Robert Stephenson, plus previous free agent signings Luis García and Adam Cimber, in a completely overhauled bullpen."

Luckily for the Mets, there still are some intriguing options available. New York needs to improve the bullpen before Spring Training rolls around and it sounds like it knows this.

The Mets have been linked to seemingly every reliever available and it wouldn't be surprising to see a signing happen soon but now a possible option is off the board.
