Last September, Los Angeles Angels' breakout star Zach Neto suffered a major injury. As he slid into second base on a fairly routine play, the shortstop injured his shoulder. After trying to rehabilitate the injury naturally, Neto and the Angels decided surgery would be the best solution for his longterm health.

After getting shoulder surgery in November, Neto was given the entire offseason to recover and rehab the injury. The initial timeline suggested that he would miss the first chunk of games at the beginning of the season, but he may be back soon to join a surging Angels team.

Jeff Fletcher of SoCal News Group reported on Sunday that Neto played a full Triple-A game, which is a major step in his rehab process.

"In other news, Zach Neto played all 9 innings at SS today for the first time in his rehab assignment," Fletcher wrote on X.

Neto playing in a full game is a great sign of his progression. His rehab assignment expires on April 21, so he will either be recalled or be placed back on the injured list before then. This news comes as the Angels are set to begin a critical three-game series against the Texas Rangers.

In 155 games for the Angels last season, Neto slashed .249/.318/.443 for a .761 OPS and 112 OPS+. Neto also accumulated 5.1 bWAR, which put him in the top-25 in all of the MLB.

It's unclear if Neto will return for the Texas series, but this latest news seemingly puts his return in the near future.
