The Arizona Wildcats baseball program will kick off the 2026 season at Surprise Stadium in Arizona, facing a prestigious four‑team field that includes Oregon State, Michigan, and Stanford.

The tournament, hosted by Oregon State and REV Entertainment, takes place from February 13 to 15, with Arizona playing two games against Michigan on separate days.

 

The Wildcats will open against one of the tournament’s powerhouse programs and will face either Stanford or Michigan in a follow‑up game. Specific match‑ups and times will be announced later .

Surprise Stadium serves as the spring home for MLB’s Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals and has recently been named the top spring‑training venue in the country. The neutral-site opener promises a college atmosphere and professional amenities, providing a unique stage for Arizona following a successful first season in the Big 12.

Arizona Baseball enjoyed a standout 2025 postseason, capturing the Big 12 Tournament title dominantly before advancing to the College World Series for the first time since 2021.

The Wildcats rode a deep pitching staff and timely hitting through the regionals and super regionals, knocking off top-seeded LSU in Baton Rouge to punch their ticket to Omaha. Once there, they earned a pair of wins, including a thriller over ACC power North Carolina, before being eliminated in the national semifinals.

The 2026 opener at Surprise Stadium offers a high-profile launch for a Wildcats program riding serious momentum. With a College World Series run behind them and championship expectations ahead, Arizona will use this early showcase to test itself against elite national competition. It’s not just the start of a new season—it’s a statement opportunity for a team aiming to prove its place among college baseball’s best.
