Arizona’s future gains clarity as D-Backs Owner Ken Kendrick supports star duo

D-Backs Owner Ken Kendrick speaks about Marte and Gallen:

During an interview with Arizona Sports, Diamondbacks Owner Ken Kendrick first spoke on Arizona star Ketel Marte. Kendrick recognized that Marte played very well after the whole situation of him missing time and the break-in at his home. He recognized he made a mistake and is said without a doubt to be a top-three member on this team. Kendrick recognized the importance of Marte, not just on the field, but also off the field, and is a massive leader in the clubhouse as well. Marte in the 2025 season finished with a .283 batting average, 28 home runs, and 72 RBIs.

Ken Kendrick also mentioned that it is not out of the question to bring SP Zac Gallen back, as he spoke about how Gallen has been an all-time great Diamondback during his time in Arizona. The recent moment of him not wanting to take his Diamondbacks jersey off after what could be his last start, spoke volumes. Kendrick said he is the guy you want to root for. Gallen ended his 2025 season with a 13-15 record, a 4.83 ERA, and 175 strikeouts. Gallen will now surely become one of the biggest names surrounding free agency, though could possibly be back in the desert after Kendrick’s comments.

Kendrick believes they will be able to put together another World Series run next season. They might not have the talent level or payroll, though he mentions that it didn’t stop them from making a World Series appearance back in 2023. Though they are now focusing on putting the best team on the field, and not living in the past. The front office of the Diamondbacks is obviously taking the future seriously, as the moves made and statements are coming days after the season came to a close.
