Athletics Announce Move After Nick Kurtz News

Kurtz returns after producing one of the Athletics' best offensive seasons before landing on the injured list. Through 92 games, the rookie first baseman slashed .266/.405/.497 with 20 home runs and 66 RBIs, giving the club a consistent presence in the heart of the lineup.

Muncy appeared in a supporting role after being recalled earlier this month. The infielder is batting .223/.298/.389 with five home runs and 20 RBIs across 157 at-bats this season and will continue receiving regular playing time with the Las Vegas Aviators.

The Athletics entered Saturday at 44-59, fourth in the American League West and eight games behind the division-leading Texas Rangers. While postseason contention remains unlikely, the organization continues prioritizing the development of its young core during the second half.
