The Athletics have been swinging the bats at a solid level as they are seventh in the majors with a .752 team OPS while scoring 4.45 runs per game. This lineup has been able to hit for power as they are sixth in the bigs with 163 combined home runs hit. Designated hitter Brent Rooker has been swinging the bat well as he has a .274/.346/.500 slash line with 24 homers, 70 RBI, 73 runs scored, and five stolen bases while being caught once.
The Athletics right-hander Luis Morales is making just his second career appearance and first start in the majors. He pitched on August 1 out of the bullpen against the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he allowed one run on three hits with one walk and zero strikeouts over two innings without factoring into the decision. It will be interesting to see how he does in his first career start.
The Baltimore Orioles need to heat up at the plate as they are 18th in MLB with a .241/.304/.405 team slash line while averaging 4.30 runs per game so far. The lineup has been doing a respectable job on the bases as they have stolen 80 bases while being caught 28 times as a whole. Shortstop Gunnar Henderson has been hitting at a great level as he has a .820 OPS with 14 homers, 50 RBI, 66 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases on 19 attempts.
The Baltimore Orioles are sending young left-hander Cade Povich to the bump and he has struggled this season as in 14 games (13 starts), he is 2-6 with a 5.25 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP in 70.1 innings pitched. He has struggled with limiting the amount of hits as he has a .280 opposing batting average thus far. Povich faced the Athletics once last season in a losing effort as he gave up eight runs on five hits with three walks and one strikeout in one inning.

The Athletics are sending a pitcher making his second career appearance while Cade Povich has not looked sharp this season on the bump. Povich has a 6.81 ERA at home this season while these teams have been able to hit well for power. These bullpens are also two of the worst in the majors so there is a lot going in terms of the lineups being able to hit well here. All in all, go with over nine runs to end the series.
