The Atlanta Braves had a game to remember yesterday on the road against the Cincinnati Reds. They won 12-11 in 10 innings. Atlanta won despite blowing an 8-run lead in the 8th inning or later and hitting no home runs. The last team to win a game under these circumstances was the Pirates on July 12, 1933, against the Braves.

Both the Braves and Reds also scored 8 runs in the 8th inning of the contest. It is the only time since 1901 that both teams scored 8+ runs within the same inning in the 6th inning or later. Can the Braves continue making history?

Atlanta Braves Season Summary

It has been a disappointing season for the Atlanta Braves. They are in fourth place in the National League East. The team entered the season with playoff aspirations, but has fallen way short. Atlanta also had a quiet MLB Trade Deadline . Their big moves were acquiring Relief Pitcher Tyler Kinley and Starting Pitcher Erick Fedde. That did not come as a surprise because Atlanta is not in a position to go all-in this summer.

Final Thoughts

The Atlanta Braves return to the diamond this afternoon against the Cincinnati Reds. Atlanta will look to keep it going today following a historic victory yesterday.
