The Atlanta Braves wrap up their three-game series with the New York Mets tonight. The Braves won the first two games and look to complete a sweep tonight. So far, Atlanta has outscored the Mets 10-4 over the last two days. The Braves are calling up right-handed pitcher Didier Fuentes from Triple-A Gwinnett. It is unknown if this will be as a starter or as a reliever. If it’s for him to start, it’ll likely come this weekend with Spencer Strider getting the start today against the Mets. Fuentes this season has pitched a High-A Rome, Double-A Columbus, and Triple-A Gwinnett. In nine starts, he is 0-7 with a 4.81 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and 48 strikeouts in 39.1 innings. He ranks tenth among Braves prospects and celebrated his 20th birthday two days ago. Ruiz, this season for Atlanta in two appearances, is posting a 13.50 ERA, a 2.50 WHIP, and three strikeouts in two innings.

Fuentes has made a rush through the Braves’ system, having spent short times in the minor leagues, but he will now make his big league debut.
