Auction house offering $2M for Aaron Judge's record-setting HR ball

Memory Lane Inc., an auction house in California, is reportedly offering the fan who caught Aaron Judge's historic 62nd home run ball a whopping $2 million for it.

According to the Associated Press, Memory Lane president JP Cohen has texted and emailed Cory Youmans, the fan who caught the ball Judge smashed out of Globe Life Field on Tuesday night for his 62nd home run of the season, breaking Roger Maris' single-season record.

Word that Cohen planned to offer a large sum if Judge hit the historic milestone broke last week.

"We did make an offer of $2 million, and that offer is still valid," Cohen said.

Youmans told reporters on Tuesday that he didn't have an immediate idea of what he would do with the ball. As of the interview with the AP on Wednesday, he had not returned Cohen's messages.

"I feel the offer is way above fair, if he is inclined to sell it," Cohen said on Wednesday.

The highest amount paid at auction for a home run ball stands at $3 million, paid for Mark McGwire's record 70th HR from 1998.
