After their loss to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday, the Toronto Blue Jays' four-game winning streak came to an end. However, despite the loss, Toronto has had a lot of success recently. They are 10-3 in their last 13 games and are tied for second place in the AL East with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Following Sunday's loss, the Blue Jays will remain on the road and begin a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. Prior to the game, however, the team announced a roster move for a former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher, which could give them a boost in the series.
Though they have mostly been solid over the last month or so, the Blue Jays' pitching staff has been up and down. However, based on the latest reports, Toronto may have some reinforcements on the way.
On Sunday, the Blue Jays announced that they have recalled pitcher Spencer Turnbull from Triple-A. In a corresponding move, they have optioned Paxton Schultz down to Triple-A.

Turnbull, who spent last season with the Phillies, signed with the Blue Jays as a free agent in May. The 32-year-old has yet to make his debut for the team, however, as he has been on a minor league assignment since signing his contract. As it stands, it remains unclear whether the team will use Turnbull in the rotation or in the bullpen.
According to MiLB.com, Turnbull has a 0-3 record in the minor leagues this season with a 7.13 ERA and a 1.81 WHIP. While these numbers are far from ideal, he still provides experience and is an extra body for the Blue Jays, who will hope that he performs much better for them in the major leagues.
