The Toronto Blue Jays are feeling it as of late, as they have won each of their last three games. With this, they now sport a 16-16 record and are third in the American League East standings.

Overall, the Blue Jays are starting to trend in the right direction and are now just one game behind the Boston Red Sox in the AL East standings because of it. Now, they have made a roster move as they look to stay hot.

According to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith , the Blue Jays have signed pitcher Spencer Turnbull to a major league contract.

Turnbull, 32, spent this past season with the Philadelphia Phillies. In 17 appearances, which included seven starts, he posted a 3-0 record, a 2.65 ERA, and 58 strikeouts. Overall, the 6-foot-3 right-hander put together a solid campaign with the Phillies and will now look to make an impact after earning this deal with the Blue Jays from here.

Turnbull will now provide the Blue Jays with more experienced pitching depth as their season carries on. In 78 career major league games over six seasons split between the Detroit Tigers and Phillies, he has a 15-29 record, a 4.26 ERA, and 338 strikeouts.
