CJ Van Eyk’s latest stint with the Toronto Blue Jays came to an end shortly after the club extended its winning streak.

Following Toronto’s third consecutive victory, a 7-0 shutout over the Seattle Mariners, the Blue Jays optioned the rookie right-hander back to Triple-A Buffalo.

The move marked a quick return to the minors for Van Eyk, who had only recently been called up to join Toronto’s pitching staff.

The transaction was first reported by Hazel Mae, who shared the roster update on her verified X account following Sunday’s win.

Van Eyk’s latest major league opportunity was brief, but he did see action with the Blue Jays before Sunday’s transaction.

The 27-year-old appeared in four games and pitched 6 2/3 innings, posting a 4.05 ERA during his time with Toronto.

His demotion came at the end of a successful weekend for the Blue Jays, who finished their series against Seattle with a dominant victory.

Max Scherzer led the way in Sunday’s finale, delivering one of his strongest outings of the season against the Mariners.

The veteran right-hander threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out 10 batters.

Scherzer’s performance helped Toronto secure the 7-0 victory and complete its third straight win as the calendar prepares to turn to September.

For Van Eyk, the move ends another brief stay on the major league roster and sends him back to Buffalo for the time being.

The Blue Jays now move forward after a strong stretch against Seattle, while Van Eyk will look to continue working in Triple-A and position himself for another opportunity with the club.
