There’s a new home run leader in the Toronto Blue Jays‘ minor league system.
In a recent Minor League Report, we looked at how Will Robertson hit a home run in four consecutive games. Well, on Tuesday evening, the 27-year-old outfielder fell one short of matching that in a single game.
Robertson was the third batter in the top of the first inning for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, smashing a ball 405 feet with an exit velocity of 110.9 mph for his eighth of the season.
Fast forward to the top of the eighth, and Robertson hit his second of the game, with this home run going 400 feet with an exit velocity of 105.3 mph. This home run matched the organization’s lead, shared with RJ Schreck and Arjun Nimmala.
Robertson took the organization lead in home runs in the top of the fifth, hitting a solo home run with an exit velocity of 107.8 mph, going a distance of 399 feet. For good measure, Robertson split the outfielders with a one-out double in the top of the ninth to give him his fifth RBI of the game.

Power is nothing new for the 27-year-old. Last season, he finished with 19 home runs, second only to Damiano Palmegiani, who hit 21 home runs. Since the start of the 2023 season, Robertson’s 48 home runs are the second-most in the organization, only behind Orelvis Martinez, who has 52 thanks to his two-home run game on Tuesday.
On top of the home runs, Robertson is slashing .294/.412/.574, by far the best slash line of his career at any level. Even better is that Robertson is striking out at a respectable clip, just 24.9%. That’s down significantly from his 31.3 K% in 2024.
The question is, where does Robertson fit into the Blue Jays’ plans? Well, the team can always use some power, and with the injury of both Anthony Santander and Daulton Varsho, Robertson would slot in nicely. Of course, the Jays would need a 40-man roster, which isn’t a problem because they are only using 38 spots. Moreover, Robertson can take Alan Roden’s spot on the 26-man roster, or perhaps Jonatan Clase.
It wouldn’t be all that surprising if Robertson receives a call-up soon.
