The Toronto Blue Jays' offense is getting a reinforcement.

The Blue Jays plan to call-up No. 14 ranked prospect infielder Sean Keys, per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com.

The expectation is that Keys will be activated tomorrow, per reports.

Keys, 23, was raking between Double-A and Triple-A this season. In 67 minor league games, Keys slashed .284/.409/.619 with a 1.028 OPS, 21 home runs and 54 RBI.

The Blue Jays have the No. 22 ranked offense in MLB, so there's definitely some room for improvement. They have hit 82 homers as a team and have a .391 slugging percentage and .702 OPS.

The question is where Keys will factor into the equation when it comes to playing time in the infield. Keys is a third baseman and Japanese rookie Kazuma Okamoto has had a strong year offensively. First base is occupied by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. At second base, a position Keys has never played, Ernie Clement has had an All-Star caliber season as well. It's possible that Keys could see some time at DH given the struggles of George Springer (.219/.309/.373/.682 slash line) this year.

It's also possible that Springer could begin playing more in the outfield, which would also give Keys DH at-bats.

Keys will need to be moved to both the 26-man roster and 40-man roster, so the Blue Jays will need to put someone on the 60-day IL or designate a player for assignment.

The Blue Jays are hoping that Keys' power bat can help provide a jolt to their offense.

Toronto is currently 39-42, but tied for the third and final Wild Card spot in a weak American League.
