The Red Sox had an opener for Brayan Bello for the second straight time through the rotation. Bello pitched well, going 6.1 innings, allowing a run on four hits. He walked one and struck out five. The Red Sox had an issue in the game where they were continuously ruining momentum by grounding into double plays. Their lone run game on a single by Ceddanne Rafaela. Seven different Red Sox hitters had a hit, none of which were extra-base hits.
Trevor Story was the only Red Sox hitter to reach base more than once as he singled and also reached via a walk.
