The Red Sox took the first game, 5-4, with a five-run seventh. They took the middle game 10-3 with three runs in the first and five runs in the third. Tonight, they’ll have Sonny Gray returning from injury to make the start. They are activating Gray off the injured list, and to make room for his return, they are optioning left-hander Alec Gamboa to Triple-A Worcester. The Red Sox also announced today that they are sending right-handed pitcher Justin Slaten on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester. Slaten just pitched at Double-A Portland, where he made a start, going one scoreless inning, allowing a hit and striking out two.
