Ahead of tonight’s game, the Red Sox have selected right-handed pitcher Isaiah Campbell from Triple-A Worcester. The Red Sox also optioned last night’s starter, Richard Fitts, to Triple-A Worcester. Fitts picked up his first career big league win, going 5.2 innings, giving up three runs, two earned on five hits. He walked one and struck out six. The Red Sox also transferred right-handed pitcher Liam Hendriks to the 60-day injured list. Hendriks has been out since May 27th with right hip inflammation.

Campbell, this season in 30 games at Worcester, is 5-4 with a 3.89 ERA, a 1.53 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 39.1 innings. Last season in eight games with the Red Sox, he went 0-1 with a 16.20 ERA, a 2.40 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 6.2 innings.
Fitts’ this season is 1-3 with a 4.28 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and 28 strikeouts in 33.2 innings over eight starts. In four starts between Worcester and Double-A Portland, he is 1-1 with a 4.20 ERA, a 1.47 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 15 innings.
