Rolison was a first-round pick out of Mississippi back in 2018, but he didn’t make his major league debut until this season, and it did not go well. He appeared in 31 games for the Rockies, tossing 42.1 innings and recording a 7.01 ERA with a 5.3 K/9 and 4.3 BB/9.
His numbers in AAA, however, were significantly better. Rolison made 20 appearances with a 3.34 ERA and a 9.7 K/9. It’s unlikely he ever makes a major impact in Atlanta, but the Braves appear to be going back to the well, once again acquiring a Colorado reliever who struggled in hopes that a change of scenery away from Coors Field will lead to better results.
