The Atlanta Braves have struggled to put together competitive baseball this 2025 season, and it's reflected in their 31-39 record.
Currently sitting in third place in an NL East division that's being overpowered by the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies, manager Brian Snitker has tried everything and anything to try and get the Braves back into contention.
Atlanta's 2025 season got off to a nightmare start with a seven-game losing streak and an 80-game suspension to newly acquired outfielder Jurickson Profar just four games into the year.
Profar was given the suspension after violating MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program after testing positive for Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG), which is a performance-enhancing substance.
He signed a three-year, $42 million contract with the Braves this past offseason, but a large portion of the deal was voided due to the suspension, which came without pay.
The Braves' outfielder addressed the suspension in late March, saying, "I have been tested my entire career, including eight times last season alone, and have never tested positive. I would never willingly take a banned substance, but I take full responsibility and accept MLB's decision."
After playing in just four games for the Braves this season, Jurickson Profar's absence is coming to an end, and he will be eligible to return to Atlanta's lineup on July 2.
Although he can't play for the Braves until then, it's been announced that Profar will be able to begin a rehab assignment for Triple-A Gwinnett tonight.

His return to the Braves lineup will be crucial for Atlanta in their attempts to get back into playoff-contending baseball.
Profar, 32, broke out in 2024 with the San Diego Padres. He earned his first All-Star appearance and a Silver Slugger award last season while having a .280 BA, .380 OBP, .459 SLG, and a .839 OPS while hitting 24 home runs and 85 RBI.
