The Atlanta Braves announced that outfielder Eli White was placed the 7-day concussion injury list after sustaining the injury in the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Following this move, the Braves have also called up infielder Ha-Seong Kim from the injured list following months of rehabilitation.

The move is a tough one for the Braves as White has been a defensive unit during this season. However, his absence might not be felt for long as teammate Mauricio Dubon could fill in the empty gaps left behind by White.

During the Braves' victory against the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, White ran into a wall after rushing to catch a Max Muncy hit and recording the out. White got the out but was visibly shaken after collofing pretty hard with the wall.

White was able to remain in the game following the impact but was pulled after his next at-bat. He was placed under concussion protocol and did not return for the rest of the encounter.

With Kim out of the lineup, it gave the Braves the opportunity to call up Kim back onto the roster. The 30-year-old is set to make his 2026 MLB debut at home against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.

Kim, who re-signed with the Braves in the offseason on a one-year, $20 million contract, was forced to miss the start of the 2026 MLB season after suffering a torn tendon in his left finger. Kim suffered the injury after slipping on ice while in Korea and had to undergo surgery.

Kim was expected to be the starting shortstop in his first full season with the Braves, and now that he is returning from his injury, it won't take long before Kim slots himself perfectly with the rest of the team. The shortstop joined the Braves in August 2025 via a waiver claim after spending time with the Tampa Bay Rays.

In the 24 games he played with the Braves for the remainder of the 2025 MLB season, Kim recorded a .253 batting average, connecting with three home runs and 12 RBIs. His return to the roster will provide the Braves a boost as they attempt to maintain their strong atop the AL East.

The Braves hold the best record in the entire MLB, and with players such as Drake Baldwin, Matt Olson, and the return of Kim, the team will definitely be a force to be reckoned with come playoffs.
