https://athlonsports.com/mlb/braves-jurickson-profar-breaks-silence-following-mlb-suspension-newsAt 2-9, the Atlanta Braves have not had the start to the season that anyone envisioned. Stemming from a season-opening seven-game losing streak against the Dodgers and Padres, the 2023 NL East division winners have found themselves tied with the lowly Chicago White Sox for the worst record in baseball.
It is only 11 games in, and the Braves still have not gotten Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr back from injury. Strider is set to return within two weeks after striking out 13 across 5 1/3 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett Thursday, but the current squad is mired in an astonishingly bad start to the season.
The Braves can and should make a call, however, to those lowly White Sox about one player that could potentially turn it around.
Luis Robert Jr., while having a lowly .154 batting average in 2025, is still that player who hit .338 in 2021 which helped lead the White Sox to a division crown. Being on a more competitively-minded team, however, with the right coaching and development could present Robert a new opportunity that sees him excel once again.
Due to injuries and a drop off in production, Robert's asking price may not be lower, and the Braves sure need a bat like his in the lineup.
Following Jurickson Profar's 80-game suspension, the Braves have been left with a sorting hat of outfielders Alex Verdugo, Jarred Kelenic, and Bryan de la Cruz as they wait for Acuna's return.
Sending a couple high-rated prospects over to Chicago as they continue their rebuild could prove very advantageous as the Braves look to right the ship.
