The 2025 season is certainly starting to look bleak for the Atlanta Braves, as they currently have a 28-38 record, putting them in third place in the NL East and on pace to have their first losing season since 2017.
However, on Monday night, they did secure a big 7-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in the first of a three-game series, which also happened to snap a brutal seven-game losing streak.
That wasn't the only big storyline, though, as the Braves also revealed that second baseman Ozzie Albies had eclipsed 1,000 career hits.
It's certainly a big deal and even drew a reaction from right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr., who reposted Atlanta's announcement on his Instagram story, while writing "@OZZIE I LOVE YOU DAWG."
Of course, seeing this kind of reaction from Acuna doesn't come as too much of a surprise, considering that the two have been teammates at the MLB level since 2018 with the Braves.
This achievement does come in what has been a down year for Albies, appearing in 67 games, accumulating 258 at-bats, 60 hits, 32 runs scored, six home runs and 25 RBI while slashing .233/.321/.461..
However, considering he's a three-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger, Albies has a proven ability to put up impressive numbers, and it will remain to be seen if he improves.
Of course, Acuna, a four-time All-Star and the 2023 NL MVP, may soon find himself reaching the same achievement as Albies, as his 833 career hits mean he's starting to close in on the 1,000 mark.
