Braves top prospect Eric Hartman continues insane 2026 season

The biggest prospect riser in the entire sport right now might just be Braves outfielder Eric Hartman.

An afterthought coming into the season, Hartman’s torrid start earned him top-100 prospect status weeks ago — and he’s only justified that recognition since, adding two more home runs on Saturday to bring his season total to 15, along with 25 stolen bases.

That would be an impressive season for any 19-year-old in High-A ball under any circumstances. Pair it with a .311 batting average and .977 OPS, and the fact that we’re only in the first week of June, and it becomes certifiably insane.

How insane? Hartman is the only teenager to post a .300 average, .950 OPS, 15-plus home runs, and 25-plus stolen bases since 2006. The last 20-year-old to accomplish the feat? Two-time All-Star and one of the most electrifying players in baseball — Elly De La Cruz.

Hartman is on the fast track to becoming the Braves’ number one overall prospect — if he isn’t already — and could soon be viewed as a top-50 talent in the sport.

The combination of power and speed gives him a ceiling no other prospect in the organization can really match. The only question is whether he can sustain it as he climbs through the system. Double-A will provide a much clearer picture of his outlook, but given how young he still is, the Braves have little reason to rush anything.

This doesn’t appear to be a fluke. As the trade deadline approaches, no prospect should be considered completely untouchable. But if there’s one name that would make Anthopoulos sick to move, it’s Eric Hartman.
