Brewers Announce Starting Pitcher for Tuesday's Game Against Royals

The Milwaukee Brewers have been decimated in their pitching staff as injuries continue to pile up. Eight of the Crew's top 13 pitchers are unavailable and it's put the team in a precarious position to start the year.

The Brewers have started 0-4 for the first time in a decade and the pitching staff is a large reason why. They've allowed 47 runs in the first four games and it's quite obvious to anyone watching that they're missing more than half of their best pitchers.

It's so decimated that the Brewers didn't even know how they were going to fill their first turn through the starting rotation until right before the fifth game.

Pat Murphy announces Chad Patrick will start against the Royals on Tuesday

The Brewers are going with a rookie, Chad Patrick, on Tuesday.

"We're not at full strength, but it is what it is right now. We've got guys that, Chad Patrick wasn't supposed to make our team, necessarily. He did pitch well in spring training. At times very well. He'll get an opportunity." Pat Murphy said.

Patrick, 26, made his MLB debut in New York, pitching one inning and allowing two runs with one strikeout. He'll now be tasked with trying to get the Brewers first win of the season.

Last year, Patrick won the Triple-A Triple Crown, leading both Triple-A leagues in wins, ERA, and strikeouts with a 14-1 record, 2.90 ERA, and 145 strikeouts.

Tuesday's game is at 6:40 PM, the first night game of the season for the Crew and the first start potentially of many for young Chad Patrick. With the openings in the Brewers rotation right now, a strong showing can earn Patrick many more chances throughout the season.
