Coming off of a series win against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Milwaukee Brewers are headed to their farm system for reinforcements.

The Brewers announced on Sunday that they will be calling up their No. 4 overall prospect, shortstop Cooper Pratt.

The 21-year-old was drafted by the Brewers in the sixth round of the 2023 MLB Draft. He started the 2026 season at Triple-A Nashville.

In 58 games in Nashville, Pratt slashed .241/.349/.386, good for a .735 OPS, along with six home runs, six doubles, 17 stolen bases and 32 RBIs. He stands at six feet, four inches tall while weighing 210 pounds.

Pratt will likely make his MLB debut on Tuesday, June 16 against the Cleveland Guardians.

Pratt is MLB No. 63 overall prospect. The Brewers were so certain of his development that they locked him up on a eight-year, $50.75 million contract extension in April of 2026.

The shortstop grades on nicely on all levels. He is a power, speed and defensive threat with a 60 grade arm and 50 grade hit tool. His contact skills along with his defense are the main reasons for his extension, as the Brewers believe he will blossom into a middle of the order bat and plus defender.

The corresponding move for Pratt's promotion has not been announced yet, but it will likely be one of third baseman Luis Rengifo or shortstop Joey Ortiz. While both good defenders, have struggled mightily at the plate.

Rengifo's 2026 statistics: 57 games, 185 AB, .205/.280/.254, .534 OPS, nine doubles, 19 RBIs, 38 hits, 19 walks, 24 strikeouts.

Ortiz's 2026 statistics: 60 games, 145 AB, .207/.299/.262, .561 OPS, five doubles, one home run, 14 RBIs, 30 hits, 20 walks, 27 strikeouts.

The left side of the Brewers infield has not received much production throughout the first 69 games of the season, so the hope is that Pratt will bring some needed offense and deepen their lineup.

Despite this lack of production, the Brewers have thrived this season. They currently sit in first place in the National League Central division with a record of 43-26. They have the eight best OPS in the league at .734 but have struggled with pop out of their lineup. They have 63 home runs on the season which ranks 27th in baseball.

The Brewers continue their six game homestand against Cleveland starting on Tuesday, Pratt will be able to make his major league debut in front of the Milwaukee faithful.
