Christian Yelich and the Milwaukee Brewers still couldn’t get their offense going. On Thursday, they absorbed a 3-1 loss in Game 3 of the 2025 National League Championship Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who need one more win to send Milwaukee careening out of World Series contention.
It’s not a secret that the Brewers’ offense has not been living up to the standard it set in the regular season, but the team has at least one more game to show some signs of life at the plate.
Through three games in the NLCS, Milwaukee has hit just .101 and scored only three runs overall.
Yelich finally got his first hit in the NLCS on Thursday, but it ultimately amounted to nothing, as Milwaukee fell prey to the Dodgers. Unlike Los Angeles, which is barely sweating the struggles of its own superstar in Shohei Ohtani, Milwaukee is not winning as Yelich and others strike out one after the other.
Yelich acknowledges the situation the Brewers are in, but he’s also keeping his hopes alive that Milwaukee can turn things around — while they still can.
“Look, we’re in a big hole. We have to break it down into little goals. Our goal right now should be to get the series back to Milwaukee and worry about the rest of the stuff [later]. We’ve got to win four in a row. Obviously, we can’t four before you win one,” Yelich said, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Hopefully for the Brewers, they can extend the series with a win this Friday at Dodger Stadium.
