The Milwaukee Brewers rebounded from a 3-2 loss at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals in a series finale last Sunday by taking down the Los Angeles Angels, 9-2, on Tuesday night.

Former National League Most Valuable Player Christian Yelich had a strong performance at the plate in the Angels game, as he finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBIs. His RBI double in the first inning put Milwaukee on the board first.

In the fourth frame, Yelich lifted a 409-foot two-run home run that stretched the Brewers’ lead, 5-0.

With his performance against the Halos, Yelich is just a home run away from a 30-blast 2025 season. He also now has 99 RBIs. Yelich has achieved a 30/100 season just once, so far in his career in the big leagues. That was in 2018 when he won the NL MVP, as he led the league with a .326 batting average to go with 36 home runs and 110 RBIs.

Brewers’ Yelich sounds off on upcoming career marks

Yelich admitted that he’s aware of his looming milestones, but made it clear that his focus is on helping the Brewers win games more than anything else.

“You’re aware of a couple of [the numbers] just from being in the stadium,” Yelich said after the game, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.

“You just keep your head down and do what you’re supposed to do during the game, and everything else kind of takes care of itself. You don’t really chase that stuff.”

Barring injuries or an unexpected twist, Yelich will likely reach the 30-home run plateau and the 100-RBI mark before the end of the 2025 season. The Brewers still have 11 games left to play in the regular season.
