The Brewers have been on a roll all summer. Now comes the chase for history.
Milwaukee sits at 86–54 with 22 games left, which means 100 wins isn’t just possible, it’s right in front of them. A 14–8 finish gets them there. That would mark the first 100-win season in franchise history. The Brewers’ current high-water mark is 96 wins in 2011 and again in 2018.
They’ve looked the part of a 100-win club, too. This is a team with a +164 run differential that ripp ed off a franchise-record 14-game winning streak in August. They won 29 of 34 during that stretch to seize control of the NL Central. Even after leveling out with a 5–5 record over their last 10, they still hold a comfortable division lead and a direct path to October.
The stars and depth pieces have kept this machine humming. Christian Yelich has been managing a back issue, and relievers DL Hall and Grant Anderson have both missed time. Veteran right-hander Shelby Miller is on the 60-day IL with a UCL sprain. Even with those setbacks, Milwaukee has found enough arms to keep the bullpen steady and enough bats to stay balanced.
At their current .614 winning percentage, the Brewers are on pace to land right around 99 wins. One more mini-heater and they clear 100.
For a franchise that’s been around since 1970 and never hit triple digits in the win column, this is the kind of September that can rewrite the record book. The Brewers don’t need another historic streak to do it — just a solid finish. 14 more wins in the last three weeks, and this team becomes the first Milwaukee club to hit the century mark.
And October baseball would feel a little different with that number attached.
