Brewers get musical salute as local musician drops Fear the Beer Album
Milwaukee Brewers: Jacob Misiorowski Rediscovers Great Form in 9-8 Win Over Diamondback - 'It Feels Good to Feel Like I’m Back' 4 Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins (6) is swarmed by teammates after hitting a game-winning sacrifice fly during the ninth inning of their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-8.

To honor the Brewers’ historic regular season , local musician Nate Gibson released Fear the Beer: A Musical Salute to the Milwaukee Brewers. The album features 11 original country songs along with a rendition of “Beer Barrel Polka,” the fan favorite that fills the ballpark during the seventh-inning stretch.

Gibson first came up with the idea for the album about a month ago and then worked nonstop for weeks to finish it before the playoffs. He teamed up with musicians from across Wisconsin, including Art Stevenson on harmonica and Randall Finley on fiddle. His nephew, Ethan Gibson, a live audio engineer and heavy metal frontman, mixed the tracks and even added a guitar solo on one of the songs.

“I think these songs are very unique to not just the Brewers and this season, but their country music connections,” Gibson said in an interview with WPR’s “Wisconsin Today.”

Nate Gibson called the project a “100 percent rush job,” saying it was the quickest he has ever written and recorded an entire album.

Brewers with an album ready for the postseason

Coming off the Brewers’ sweep of the Los Angeles Angels, Gibson shared what pushed him to write and record nearly a dozen songs about the team on such a tight timeline. From lighthearted tributes like “This Bud’s for You” and “Get Up, Get Up, Get Outta Here (And Gone)” to tracks rooted in classic country tradition, the album celebrates both the Brewers’ spirit and the deep ties between Milwaukee, baseball, and American roots music.

When he isn’t cranking out Brewers-inspired songs on a tight deadline, Gibson leads Nate Gibson & the Stardazers, a local band known for playing country, honky-tonk, rockabilly, and bluegrass from the Starday Records label.

The Milwaukee Brewers set a franchise record with 97 wins, earning the top seed, home-field advantage, and a first-round bye. That success also left them with five days off before their next game on Saturday. They will meet the winner of the Cubs-Padres Wild Card series when the best-of-five division round opens at American Family Field.
