Jacob Misiorowski will not take the mound during the Milwaukee Brewers' opening series of the second half after the club decided to push back his next outing, giving the rookie right-hander additional rest following his recent workload.
The decision comes after Misiorowski was scratched from his scheduled start before the All-Star break. Manager Pat Murphy instead confirmed the Brewers will open the Miami Marlins series with Logan Henderson on Friday, Shane Drohan on Saturday and Robert Gasser on Sunday.
Misiorowski is not expected to require an injured list stint. The Brewers are simply managing his workload after he threw 103 pitches in his previous outing, prioritizing his long-term health as Milwaukee continues its push atop the National League Central.

Friday - Logan Henderson
Saturday - Shane Drohan
Sunday - Robert Gasser
The 24-year-old has emerged as one of baseball's biggest breakout stars this season. Across 18 starts, Misiorowski owns a 10-4 record with a 1.62 ERA and 167 strikeouts over 111 innings, quickly establishing himself as the ace of Milwaukee's rotation.
His absence from the weekend rotation also meant he was unavailable for the MLB All-Star Game, though Misiorowski recently told reporters he expects to resume throwing during the week and remains optimistic about avoiding any extended absence.
Milwaukee entered the second half with a 59-37 record, leading the NL Central while carefully balancing its rotation. With Brandon Woodruff and DL Hall still sidelined, the Brewers have leaned on their pitching depth throughout the season.
The club also bolstered that depth by acquiring Lance McCullers Jr. and Colton Gordon from the Houston Astros before play resumed. With Henderson, Drohan and Gasser handling the Marlins series, the Brewers can give Misiorowski extra recovery time while keeping their emerging ace fresh for the stretch run.
