The Milwaukee Brewers started their 2025 MLB postseason campaign like a house on fire. After allowing the Chicago Cubs to strike first, as Michael Busch’s home run put Chicago in front early, 1-0, Milwaukee’s offense hit back right away at their visitors.
The Brewers gathered six runs at the bottom of the opening inning and three more in the second inning. The Cubs could not match the firepower that Milwaukee flexed against them, as the Brewers ran away with a 9-3 victory in Game 1.
Jackson Chourio went 3-for-3 with three RBIs before leaving the game with an injury, while Brice Turang, William Contreras and Blake Perkins all had multi-hit performances as well.
Turang started the party for Milwaukee with an RBI double to put the Brewers on the board. That was followed by more damage inflicted by Milwaukee on Cubs starter Matthew Boyd, who toed the rubber on just three days of rest.
By the end of the second inning, Milwaukee had already scored what turned out to be all the runs they had in the entire contest, with 10 hits.
That was history made already for the Brewers.
